To anyone who has tried to "time" this years rut off years gone by (myself included) well we messed up. Based on lunar moon phases this years rut was predicted to start late on 11/17 as opposed to 10/29 last year. Myself and couple other club members hit it hard late October and early November and the deer were NOT showing any typical rut activity. To date I've seen only one buck showing any interest (Friday 11/6) but he was only hanging around not pushing or chasing his girlfriend. He was a whopper that came to 75 yards but chose to leave with his girlfriend rather than fight the decoy. If it were shotgun season I'd be posting his picture! The good new is to date you have not missed out on anything and the last two weeks of November should be the best opportunity to pick of a rut crazed buck!

Good Luck and "Hunt hard, Hunt safe and Hunt Often"
