Anyone attend the sport show at the IX center? Went with a buddy on opening day. Sure not

like the old days of the American and Canadian Expositions at the Cleveland Auditorium .

This year less than half of the IX center was for the sport show while the other half hosted the boat show  and another event. Wonder why we keep on going each year, must be out of tradition I guess.  Not many outfitters and very few vendors. I vendor I spoke to was considering not coming next year since just to have a tele line was a $250.00 fee. A little steep I think for 4 days of show. Did speak to Jack Kiser from the Buckeye Angler. He is working on having his local show on cable. He reports on Ohio fishing both Lake Erie and inland lakes. Check out his website at Buckeye Angler.

Anyway looks like the father/son team of Goins/Markiewicz will be heading to Pittsburgh for the PA show on Feb 9th.

This show is only 8 bucks with a Micky D coupon from a PA MD, kids under 13 free also free parking. Worth the trip if you have a group to split the gas. Reminds me of the sport shows that were the first at the IX center.

Will try to grab a few shots, Pics that is, and provide an update.

Wink

Pittsburgh show was OK. Like most shows a little on the small side.

Next up is the Niles Sportsman show on 3/2/13

Liked the Niles show, number of vendors both hunting and fishing. Found a good deal on a Okuma rod/reel combo for me and my buddy, Sonny, picked up a Ugly Stick 7.5 foot both only cost 25.00 each.

Had a long discussion with the folks at the North East Ohio Federation of Conservation Clubs. A single voice for  Hunt, Fish, and Shooting clubs interfacing with Ohio State Legislators including the Governor. They can be found on Facebook using the above title, no website yet.

Check the Calendar for upcoming shows and events, more to be added within the next few days..
