Bob, heard they are getting their perch limits from Lorain to Geneva. All in about 18 to 38 foot of water. Some Walleye being caught close to shorelines.

Went out of Wildwood in Euclid, Ohio today with my friend from Akron.

Arrived at the ramp at 11:30 am even though NOAA reported Samall Craft Advisory with >1 foot waves.  Radar showed Thunderstorm front moving towards Euclid so we waited until the front passed. Waves moved up to 3-4 but quickly subsided to 1-2. Launched at 1:30pm due north in 25 foot started marking heavy. Anchored in 34 foot and began steady catch of 8 inch plus perch. We reached 60 fish limit by 4:00pm. Returned many small perch back, no sheephead or gobys. Few white perch. Lake calmed down to >1 foot by 3:00. Back at ramp by 5:00pm to watch a beautiful sunset..

Well so much for the Central Basin report.

Howard did you get out before the weather turned?

Noticed a lot of boat trailer traffic on route two yesterday from Elyria to Sandusky.

Just seen a post pon another forum about a fisherman's first experience this year with the Watercraft Officer over the weekend.

Being a concerned fisherman and boater the person in question approached the Officer and was requesting a boat safety when somewhat into the friendly conversation the boater stated he had a CCW. At that point the the discussion became tense.

The Officer stated at whenever approaching an Officer, whether wildlife or Law Enforcement ALWAYS STATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE THAT YOU HAVE A CCW AND ARE OR ARE NOT CARRYING.

Fortunately for the boater the Watercraft Officer gave a stern warning and not an arrest and confiscation of the firearm.

Central Basin update for 4/15/2013.

Had the opportunity to drive the lakeshore freeway in Cleveland today.

Noticed that the mudline has gone way beyond the 5 mile Crib.

Hope it clears before May!
